What Must I Do To Be Saved?

Salvation vs. Condemnation.

6. Remain Faithful

Remaining Faithful is a Requirement For Every Christian

Remaining Faithful
"Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life"
"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord"
"I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, entreat you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called"
"And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer"

The Saved Can Lose Their Salvation

Condemned

There is a false teaching called "Once Saved Always Saved". This teaching states one cannot lose their salvation once saved. The Bible teaches otherwise.

"For if after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first"
"For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God, and put Him to open shame"
"For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain terrifying expectation of judgment, and THE FURY OF A FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THE ADVERSARIES. It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God"

Christ does not save anyone from sin so that we can continue to sin. In fact, we already repented in order to be saved! This means that we had a change in heart so that we no longer want to continue in sin. This does not mean that we will no longer struggle with sin, but that we must always repent when we do sin.

This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.
